Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Governor P. Sathasivam returned for a third time the panel of officers recommended by the government as the State Chief Information Commissioner and Information Commissioners. The Governor asked for a detailed explanation for the government’s recommendation of appointing the former Vigilance Director Vinson M Paul and five others to the Information Commission.

The Governor had received 21 complaints, including one from the Opposition Leader V.S Achuthananthan who is a member of the Selection Committee, against the government’s recommendations. He asked the government to answer each of the 21 complaints separately.

The complainants alleged that all the five persons recommended for the post of information commissioners- Jayakumar, Aby Kuriakose, P.R Devdas, Abdul Majeed and Royce Chirayil- had clear political affiliations.
